Welcome to RJP Audio Overhaul Ltd by former Marantz UK Service Manager, Richard Peel. This is my vision for assisting HiFi enthusiasts with their troublesome units. The below gives a brief summary of my electronics journey to get to this point.
After studying Electronic Servicing at college, my working life began as a bench engineer. This involved servicing audio equipment, such as portable cassettes, CD players and Minidisc. I then moved on to servicing micro and midi HiFi equipment, and eventually became an engineering team leader. During this time, I attended multiple manufacturers’ training courses mainly in Minidisc and CD player technology.
I relocated to the Heathrow area to start a new position as UK & Professional Service Manager with Marantz HiFi while they were under the Philips umbrella. The role included direct customer service and supporting the service centres with the latest technical updates. I also travelled around the various UK based service centres and visited Philips headquarters in Eindhoven, Holland.
After this, I spent a couple of years installing Audio / Visual equipment into both consumer and corporate locations before becoming involved with electronic weather monitoring equipment (design, build and servicing) and the electronic production and service of downhole cameras for the oil industry. Other projects included a small LED lighting company which received recognition from Theo Paphitis from the ‘Dragons’ Den’ television programme.
I intend to use my Audio servicing knowledge for RJP Audio Overhaul Ltd to assist HiFi owners with equipment issues. If your CD player fails to read or skips, your amplifier has lost a channel or the unit is completely dead, I will endeavour to restore your equipment back to full working order. Where possible, I try to use the component values originally fitted by the manufacturer.
