This pair of Parasound JC1 amplifiers came into the workshop for a re-cap and Bias adjustment (if needed). Luckily we found that the bottom of the units could be removed, complete with transformer! This halved the weight of the unit on the bench, making it easier to handle, such a result!
Once the re-cap was complete along with two corroded resistors replaced on the rear panel input PCBs, we approached Parasound themselves in order to obtain the details for the bias settings. These Parasound JC1 units are fitted with two actual bias settings, to be used dependent on physical setup.
After a couple of e-mails back and forth, Parasound forwarded us not only the bias settings, but also the circuit schematic information! Very much appreciated.
Both units were ran as per Parasound’s instructions and calibrated accordingly.
